Terms of Service

Administrative accounts are for churches, dioceses, ministries, and other authorized organizations ("Church Partners"), not individual consumer accounts. A person using an administrative account on a Church Partner's behalf (an "Authorized User") must be at least 18 or the age of majority where they live, whichever is higher. People may view publicly available content without an account where offered. The Service is not directed to children under 13.

By accepting these Terms for a Church Partner, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization. A separate written agreement signed by The Disciple and a Church Partner controls if it expressly conflicts with these Terms.

Church Partners are responsible for their Authorized Users, for keeping account information accurate, and for promptly removing access when authorization ends. Keep credentials confidential. Do not access another organization's data or bypass security controls. Notify us at mark@orientalorthodoxconnect.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

The Service supports church content management, sermon import and upload, transcription, transcript editing, translation, summaries, short clips, subtitles, and supported third-party integrations. Availability depends on the features enabled for your account. Some tools are experimental. We may change or discontinue features, subject to any separate written agreement, and cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability.

The Church Partner or its licensors retain ownership of videos, audio, sermons, images, logos, text, transcripts, and other content it provides or authorizes us to import ("Church Content"). The Church Partner grants The Disciple a non-exclusive license to host, copy, transmit, process, transcode, translate, summarize, make requested clips and other outputs from, and display Church Content only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, and support enabled Service features. Publicly publishing content also authorizes its distribution through selected Service features.

The Church Partner must have the rights and permissions needed for all requested processing and publication, including third-party music, footage, images, and identifiable speakers. Importing a video from YouTube does not itself grant reuse rights. This license ends when content is deleted from active systems, subject to reasonable backup, legal, and already-authorized distribution needs.

Transcripts, translations, summaries, labels, subtitles, and clips may be inaccurate or omit context, including theological meaning. Church Partners should review generated material before publishing it. AI output is an assistive draft, not an official statement of any church; the original sermon remains the primary source. The Service does not replace clergy, pastoral care, or ecclesiastical authority.

Once content is published, others may access, index, download, or share it. Removing it from the Service may not remove third-party copies. Church Partners remain responsible for their publication decisions.

Connecting an external account authorizes us to use the permissions you grant for requested functions. External services have their own rules, quotas, and availability. Disconnecting an integration stops future access through that connection and removes stored credentials, but does not automatically delete previously imported content or revoke authorization at the external provider. You can request deletion separately.

Using features that access YouTube API Services also means you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. See the Google Privacy Policy and manage access in your Google Account permissions.

Do not use the Service to infringe rights, upload unlawful content, impersonate a person or church, harass others, distribute malware, attack or scrape restricted systems, bypass controls, or access another organization's private data. Do not create misleading synthetic media or falsely attribute words to an identifiable person. We may restrict content or access where reasonably necessary to address these risks or comply with law.

If paid plans are offered, the price, billing period, usage limits, and cancellation terms will be presented before purchase or in a separate written agreement. The current in-app top-up flow is a simulated credit grant; it is not an online payment checkout. We will not charge a payment method or begin automatic renewal without presenting and obtaining agreement to those terms.

If a paid recurring plan is introduced, cancellation will stop future renewals and, unless otherwise agreed, access will continue through the paid period. Unused service credits are not cash and cannot be withdrawn or transferred. We may offer an approved refund or adjustment as service credit, except where law, payment-network rules, or a written agreement require a monetary refund. Mandatory rights for unauthorized charges, billing errors, or services not provided are unaffected.

Our Privacy Policy explains data collection, providers, retention, and privacy requests. We use third parties as described there to host the web app, operate infrastructure, connect YouTube, and provide configured AI services.

The Disciple or its licensors retain rights in the Service software, design, and branding. These Terms do not transfer ownership of Church Content to us or ownership of the Service to you. Send copyright or other content-rights complaints to mark@orientalorthodoxconnect.com with the work, disputed material and location, your contact details, and the basis for your complaint. We may restrict disputed material while reviewing a complaint.

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach, nonpayment under an applicable paid agreement, security threats, unlawful conduct, or repeated infringement. Where practicable we will give notice and an opportunity to remedy a problem, unless immediate action is needed. A Church Partner may request closure by contacting us. Closure does not automatically remove content published to external platforms. Limited records and backups may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy or required by law.

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant uninterrupted access, error-free AI output, or that generated content is suitable for publication without review. To the extent permitted by law, neither party is liable to the other for indirect or consequential losses arising from these Terms. Nothing here excludes liability or rights that cannot legally be excluded.

We may update these Terms, with notice of material changes where required by law or a written agreement. Updated Terms apply from their stated effective date. Questions can be sent to The Disciple, operating Oriental Orthodox Connect, at mark@orientalorthodoxconnect.com.
